A woman who works with her hands is a LABORER; a woman who works with her hands and head, a CRAFTSMAN; but a woman who works with her hands, her head and her heart is an ARTIST. ~ St. Francis of Assisi

dead mice dont wear jingle bells

This is the mouse my cat likes to carry around.

Sometimes when I am lost in thought and I look over I see the cat carrying this mouse... I gasp. It looks like he is carrying a dead one.

GOOD FRIDAY NIGHT

Here is another tutorial that I was inspired by. You can see my waterfall card in the slide show. I do not have a animation of it though :-(

Dont worry it is not as hard as you think it is.

Here is a card I just sent out for the June 2009 Male Birthday swap. I also used another techinque with foil. I will post that video shortly.

Hope this inspires you like it inspires me!

Connerism

Conner did something in school he was obviously not suppose to do. When his mum picked him up of course she found out about it. Conner says to his mother, now dont go home and tell you mom about this. (aka grandma)

Haha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

The kid is a nut!

The interupted plan

Well I spent most of the time reorganizing my room. Not quite done there. Never got to the card making.
I realized if I took the shoe organizer out of my closet, removed the two middle slats, turned in on it side, it is the perfect size to hold 12x12 paper. I then rolled that ugly tool box into the closet where the show organizer was. How clever was that???

Concerned about the shoes? They were old ratty tatty canvas shoes so I tossed them out.

I did finally make it to printing out the candy wrappers. Problem is I am out of yellow ink.

Everybody knows you need yellow ink for easter!

I cant afford the mola to buy ink now. Life is so unfair (insert pouty face)

The plan man

Greetings,
I love the internet. I found that Easter is April 12 with out getting my lazy butt out of bed and go look for a calendar. I made some candy wrappers. I am going to post them on etsy and that handmade www site. I am going to sell them as a PIF so I can get my customer base up.
I used the creatables that I signed up for. They are really cute. I will create a slide show of my paper crafts and tools I plan on selling. If you are itching to see what I am planning on selling before I get the slide show up... check out saharacatcreations blog. I have a slighty different version already up.
Anyway tomorrow I plan on getting that button punch from micheals. Then I will work on this months card swap. I wont say any more about the card swap because I have a vauge idea what I want to do. Actually I have two. One is my fall back plan. Saturday is card making day after all. I missed last week because i had a headache. After I work on my cards I will be taking pictures of the candy. That is if I dont eat it all first. Those dark chocolate and almond treasures are devine! I will post them on the www site for sale. I will post some other items for sale to.
I need to make $$$. I want to go to disney world with my nephew. It will be awesome!

Friday night blog

Greetings,

Friday night is about over. So I must hurry. I spent lots of time setting up my photobucket site so I can add some pictures to my blogs.

Here is a you tube video that I used as inspiration for a card I made for my mum for valentines day. You see a picture of the card I made in the slide show.

Hope this inspires you as it did me

love this scarf

I love this scarf I found the pattern for at Yarn Ball Boogie. http://www.yarnballboogie.com/ I think I am going to have to try to crochet this one myself.

This is not my picture or my scarf but I want to share with you what it looked like.
Photobucket

dont you just love the colors and the black border???

The blog is a neat site especially for the tons of links to other knitters and crocheters. I found it from watching knitty Gritty. It is geared to the mens knitter, so I have to ad this blurb, some of the language and pictures are not my style.

I dont have the funds to use the lush yarns that the artist used, but I have found some gorgious colors that are similiar to what is used. I probably paid a third less per skien.

Here is the pattern from the blog

I used Zara yarn in blue, green, purple, orange, black, white, red and Karabella’s Aurora in yellow. I liked the yellow of that brand vs. Zara’s yellow - so I mixed it up. That’s just the kind of crazy I am. Just because. One ball of each. Then, I joined the black and worked the border. Size G hook. You can make it however wide you want, but this one ended up being 6 3/4″ x 76″. There are two things about this scarf: 1) the number/pattern of either 2, 4, or 6 rows of double crochets. They go as follows:
2, 4, 2, 4, 4, 2, 6, 2, 2, 2, 4, 6. (don’t ask me why) and 2) the color order which are:
green, purple, yellow, blue, orange, red, white.
So, you start with a chain of 30 or so, work dc in each chain, and 6 more rows of dc. (all in white), then start working the repeats, beginning with 2 rows of green. Then 4 rows of purple, 2 rows of yellow, 4 rows of blue, and so on. The pattern of rows repeats, the pattern of colors repeats, but since they aren’t equal, the distribution will always be different. I’m not genius, it just came out that way. Enjoy.
Oh, and

Friday night blog

Good friday night,

I spent quite a bit of time at the library and got some wonderful knitting and crochet books. Unfortunately the way the week has gone I havent had much change to look at them, let alone knit or crochet. I will scan the patterns and directions I want to keep. No sharing though. That would be bad!

A bit of Sadness

We lost our Maggie May last December. She lost the fight against Kidney failure. It has a very ugly day.

a bit of joy after the sadness

I mentioned in a post earlier Miss lillie meower is broken. Who is Miss Lillie? She is the new kitty of the house.
Singapore was lonley so I got him a playmate. She came with a broken tail and a broken meower. Even so she is a cool cat.

little tattle tail Age 14.5 months

The bigger nephew likes to hide when his mum comes to pick him up. So he hid when she came to pick him up. His mum plays along and ask where is Conner? Which is silly because Conner is giggling his head off. Anyway Lucas points to where Conner is hiding.

Thats the same kid who parties hard on his first bday December 21 2008.

moving a new feature over

I mentioned I would be adding you tube videos from time to time on my blog. Well I decided it wont be this blog unless it does not follow under the paper or yarn theme. They will be posted under the correct blog title.
I do want to make one note... The yarn blog includes some sewing, not a lot but some.

Friday Night Blog - updating photobucket

Greetings Guys and Gals,

I am in the process of updating and organizing photobucket so there will be some broken links over there on the right. But I will get them taken care of soon and it will be in tip top shape. Well except for the older post. There will be missing photos and I am not sure if I am going to correct those or not.

So to catch you up on the previous week. The service manager was out of town for a job and well work has been a nightmare. You will find a picture of the service manager in previous post. He is the goof ball wearing the mask.

The oven went out. So no home cooked meals. Ah how sad.

Ms Lillies meower is broken. Well thats not really new news, I just havent reported it before.

Well back to the photobucket organizing.

First Edition of Friday Night Blog

Greetings random people who just happened upon my blog. It is the first installment of Friday night blog... On friday the 13 no less. There are three months this year with Friday the 13th, Feb, March and November.
Some Friday 13th facts
paraskavedekatriaphobia is the fear of Friday 13th
Some Hospitals do not have a room 13, Large buildings do not have a 13th floor and airlines skip gate 13
President Franklin D. Roosevelt would not travel on the 13th day of any month and would never host 13 guests at a meal. Napoleon and President Herbert Hoover were also triskaidekaphobic, with an abnormal fear of the number 13.
Mark Twain once was the 13th guest at a dinner party. A friend warned him not to go. "It was bad luck," Twain later told the friend. "They only had food for 12." Superstitious diners in Paris can hire a quatorzieme, or professional 14th guest.
The number 13 suffers from its position after 12, according to numerologists who consider the latter to be a complete number - 12 months in a year, 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 gods of Olympus, 12 labors of Hercules, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 apostles of Jesus, 12 days of Christmas and 12 eggs in a dozen.

thats thanks to yahoo...
and also from yahoo somebody buys a used couch and gets a surpise
http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/index.php?cl=12471806

link doesnt work anymore. It updated the news. The surprise was a cat in the couch. The owner got the cat back!

Dont worry it isnt a snake! I wish I could embed the video but I couldnt ... so sad

onto other topics. I am going to create a few blogs from time to time ... The first one is going to be the Dear John Blog. This is the blog that I will write a letter to people that I wish I could of said something more.
The following people are on my dear john list
The lady who I paid the taxes for my auto, the blue frontier truck driver, the mexican in the blue shirt, BB and the governor. (After all we have the 2nd highest unemployment and our governor wants to refuse economic aid) Hey what does he have to loose, he is on his second term and cannot be elected again.

Two other blogs I would like to create is the yarn blog and the paper blog. Both dedicated to the craft of using yarn or paper.

I will leave you with one more www site then I will go create my dear john blog.

This is some craftying ideas that might get you inspired

It is about time

Its about time I returned to my bloggie. I know for shame on me. Truth be told I lost interest. Stuff just happens and I lost excitement about life. I just been plugging along with little excitement. When I get a bit excited about something... Like going to Elton John and Billy Joel concert last saturday, some poop head tells me it is pathetic paying all that money to see to old people sing ten old songs. My little happy balloon just popped.

Anyway I decided to have bloggers friday. That is when I will update the blog for the current week. We will see how long that last! Now before you all check the calendars... March 12 is on a thursday.... which means YIKES tomorrow is Friday the 13th. My mother gets annoyed when I insist remining her it is Friday 13th. Never knew her to be real superstitous. After all she is the one who had that HUGE black cat. (It was kind of funny watching the neighbor who was superstitous scream when she saw him)

I thought I would post a fav youtube video from time to time.

Here is one I plan to make Saturday, because Saturday is going to be greeting card making day!

I hope the embedded file works.

You can find the blog at

Hope this inspires you to create.
